A no freezer refrigerator is basically what it sounds like – a refrigerator without freezer compartment. More often than not, these units are used by commercial retailers such as gas stations or restaurants. However, there are a good amount of residential (can’t forget college dorm rooms!) users who buy them as well. This is especially true for the smaller refrigerator only models – they make great beverage chillers. If you’ve run out of refrigerator space but have plenty of freezer space to spare, these models may be a good option for you.
A few good no freezer refrigerator models for residential use are: the Danby DAR1102WE and the Frigidaire FRU17B2JW. I like the Danby model partly because it’s cheap – around $400. But, it would also work great for those who need a little more space, but not a whole new big fridge (it’s 11 cubic ft). I like the Frigidaire model because it’s solidly built, and is a little roomier at 16.7 cubic ft. It’s really not bad price-wise either – just $550.
If you’re looking for commercial no freezer refrigerators, I would recommend the True brand. They make some very heavy duty models, which are great for every day use.
