Our Maytag MSD2578VEM review: Having style, a decent storage capacity (25.4 cubic ft) and having a reasonable price tag seem to be a winning combination for the Maytag MSD2578VEM refrigerator. The exterior is monochromatic stainless steel, which is the hottest style these days (and I must say, it looks great). A couple other features I really like about this refrigerator are: tall water and ice dispensers which can be dispensed at the same time, adjustable temp deli drawer, ice maker can make smaller sized cubes, chiseled doors, Energy Star compliant, large door bin (can hold 2 gallons of milk), snack pan with roller track, and a water measurer for ounces, cups or liters. A couple of those features are truly innovative, which is always refreshing on a new fridge model. Especially that the innovations are useful on a daily basis.

Now you are probably asking yourself if there is anything on the Maytag MSD2578VEM refrigerator that is a potential deal breaker. Well, quite honestly there is not a lot to complain about with this model. However, most of the potential problems seem to be centered around the freezer & ice maker. As with most of these side-by-side refrigerators, the ice maker is kind of loud. The little pellet sized cubes aren’t as bad as the bigger cubes though. Also, the freezer compartment as a whole seems a little on the small side. It’s more narrow than anything - and the ice maker takes up a good amount of space as well. Overall, the Maytag MSD2578VEM is a very nice mid-size fridge. It is currently on sale for around $1,650. I’m giving this model a 4/5 star rating.
