The Maytag MFD2562VEM refrigerator is a French door model, with 24.8 cubic ft of space. The exterior is absolutely gorgeous, with a stainless steel finish. In this review of the Maytag MFD2562VEM fridge, I’ll go over this model’s positive and negative aspects, then decide if it’s worth buying. Currently, you can purchase this model for around $1,700 – which is pretty reasonable, considering it’s size and that it’s a stainless steel unit. Here’s a quick rundown of the features found on it: electronic triple-cool system, gallon door bins, covered dairy compartment, factory-installed ice maker, gliding freezer drawer, internal water dispenser, deli drawer, and spill catcher glass shelves. There are a number of great features found on this refrigerator, but not a lot you wouldn’t expect from a higher-end model.
OK, onto the negative aspects of the Maytag MFD2562VEM refrigerator. One of the main complaints is with the deli drawer being poorly constructed. The top of the drawer tends to pop off rather easily. Another thing that’s kind of pain is that the water dispenser and the ice are inside. While I’m glad this model at least has both of those features, I wish they could have put it on the exterior of the door. A couple of users actually had their units break down on them after a few years of usage. While this is something to consider before you buy, I think it was more of a fluke than anything. Unfortunately, I think there are some elements of the Maytag MFD2562VEM refrigerator that are poorly designed or just cheaply made. Until those issues get addressed, I can only give this model a 3.8 / 5 star rating.
