The Electrolux EW28BS71IS refrigerator is a French door model with 27.8 cubic ft of space and a beautiful stainless steel exterior. In this review of the Electrolux EW28BS71IS fridge, I’ll go over the positive and negative aspects of this model and then decide if it’s worth the premium price of $3,300. First off, here’s a rundown the features you’ll find on this unit: a deluxe exterior water and ice dispenser, a perfect temp drawer with 9 preset selections, two humidity controlled crispers, multi-level lighting, three full width gliding freezer baskets, PureAdvantage water and air filters, Energy Star qualified, removable spill-proof glass shelves, and wave touch controls. Of course, this is all in addition to the basic features you’d expect on any high-end refrigerator. Another cool feature on this model is that it can make up to 9 lbs of bullet shaped ice in a days time.
OK, now I’ll go over the negative aspects of the Electrolux EW28BS71IS refrigerator. Probably the biggest problem this model has is that the ice maker freezes up pretty easily. This results in no ice being made, and eventually it will break it. Also, the ice dispenser tends to spill some when you use it. Another thing I’m not crazy about is that you have to open both of the French doors in order to get to the full-width gliding drawer. After a while you tend not to put anything very important in that drawer. There really isn’t much else to complain about with the Electrolux EW28BS71IS – except maybe the higher price. Quite honestly, I would have given this refrigerator the highest marks, if not for the ice maker problems that are so prevalent. Because of that, I can only give it a 4 / 5 star rating.
