LG Refrigerator Filters

LG Refrigerator FiltersGetting LG refrigerator filters is a necessity if you own an LG model with ice and water dispensers. I’ve recently come across a couple great places that sell LG refrigerator filters and other brands as well. As I’m sure you know, you need to replace them every 6 months. If you don’t, your water is likely to get more contaminants in it and start tasting different as well. Normally, it’s not a huge deal to let it go a little longer than 6 months, but if the water starts smelling or tasting different it’s definitely time to change the refrigerator filter.

Here are a few sites that sell cheap LG refrigerator filters: www.fridgefilters.com, www.waterfilters.net, www.filter-outlet.com and of course Amazon. All sites stay within a $10 price difference, for the most part. Filter-outlet.com seems to be the cheapest if you’re looking for a 3-pack of the LT600P / LG 5231JA2006A refrigerator filters (currently $105). The 5231JA2006B are more expensive but filter more contaminants out of the water. Amazon usually has some pretty good prices as well – which can actually fluctuate from day-to-day. Hopefully this information helps you find the cheapest (yet highest quality) LG refrigerator filters.

Refrigerator With Lock

Refrigerator with LockA refrigerator with lock is exactly as it sounds – the door locks up so others can’t get in. There aren’t too many manufacturers that makes these machines, but the refrigerator with lock models are still fairly popular. This is especially true if you have kids you don’t want getting into certain food, co-workers you don’t wish to share with or even in dorm rooms – these lock and key models work great. Below I’ve listed 2 of the best lock refrigerators, based on user reviews.

The Summit FFAR-10LAB is a 10 cubic ft model with a high-tech keypad lock refrigerator door. It was actually built for labs, however it can be used anywhere. It’s an all-refrigerator unit, so there is no freezer. Users give this model very high ratings, but most complain about 2 things: it gets too cold and the cost is a little high (around $1100).

The EdgeStar CRF150SS is a compact model, which is great for small areas and dorm rooms. It’s only 1.5 cubic ft, so don’t expect to fit too much in the compartment. While it doesn’t have a ton of space, the cool thing about this refrigerator is that you can control the temperature from 0 degrees all the way up to 40 degrees. This means you can make it either a refrigerator or a freezer. The CRF150SS has a stainless steel exterior, so it looks great. It also comes with a built-in lock and two keys.

Alternatively, if you want to make your current refrigerator lock up, there is always the option to buy a locking device that attaches to it. These units range in price a lot, depending on the quality. Don’t expect the cheaper devices to last too long.

Best Fridge To Buy

Best Fridge Kenmore 78222The best fridge to buy for your needs will depend primarily on what style of fridge you are looking for (top freezer, bottom freezer, french door & side-by-side). Here’s a quick run-down of which fridge we & other reviewers think are the best in each category:

Top Freezer: Kenmore 78222 – this refrigerator is quiet & energy efficient, but does have a hefty price tag

Bottom Freezer: Kenmore Elite 76252 – includes ice maker & is Energy Star compliant, but it is also slightly above average on the pricing

French Door: Amana AFD2535DEW – it’s nice and big, comes with water filter & ice maker; a tad pricey though

Side-by-Side: Hotpoint HSS25GFTWW – it’s reliable, decently priced & roomy; on the negative side, it isn’t Energy Star qualified

Like I mentioned earlier, it all depends on which style you are looking for. Overall, I would have to go with the Kenmore 78222 top freezer refrigerator. However, if pricing is your main focus, then the best fridge for you would be the side-by-side Hotpoint HSS25GFTWW.
