Whirlpool ED2KHAXVS Review

Whirlpool ED2KHAXVSThe Whirlpool ED2KHAXVS refrigerator is a side by side model with 21.7 cubic ft of space. The stainless steel exterior is very stylish and classy-looking. In this review of the Whirlpool ED2KHAXVS fridge, I’ll go over the positive and negative aspects of this model, then decide if it’s worth the $1,350 price tag. As far as looks go, I think they did a pretty good job. The smooth stainless steel in combination with the luxury design handle bars give it a nice modern look. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll find on this model: exterior water and ice dispenser, PuR filtration system, adjustable spill-guard shelves, back-lit slide controls, humidity controlled crisper, full-width freezer bin, snack pan, a temperature controlled meat pan, adjustable gallon door bins, child lock, digital temperature control, and it’s also Energy Star qualified. For a refrigerator of this size and price, this is actually a decent amount of features. Of course, even though it has some high-end features doesn’t mean they all work exceptionally well – but, we’ll see if that’s the case next.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Whirlpool ED2KHAXVS refrigerator. While I do like the customizable shelves and door bins, the space still seems a little cramped to me – especially the freezer side. A number of users have also had problems with the ice maker either getting jammed up or going out completely. The ice maker can tend to be a little loud as well – but, this is a pretty common problem. All in all, I think this is a fine model, but I wouldn’t say it’s spectacular or anything. While it has its issues, the Whirlpool ED2KHAXVS refrigerator still has its good looks and decent dependability on it’s side. Overall, I’m giving this model a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

LG LSC27914ST Review

LG LSC27914STThe LG LSC27914ST refrigerator is a very sleek side by side model, with 26.4 cubic ft of space. The current price of this model is right around $1,200 – so, in this review of the LG LSC27914ST fridge, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses and decide if it’s worth the money. My first impression is that it looks great, has enough space, and is priced very reasonably. Next, we’ll take a closer look at the features to see what’s included with this unit: spill-proof glass shelves, digital control pad with LED display, an exterior water and ice dispenser, water filter, humidity-controlled crispers, child lock, door alarm, gallon door bins, accelerated ice machine, and it also has sensor technology to keep the temperature steady. I do like that this refrigerator seems very roomy – they did an excellent job of organizing the shelves and containers.

OK, let’s talk about the negative aspects of the LG LSC27914ST refrigerator. First off, the ice maker tends to spit ice out onto the floor. The only way to get around this issue is to hold your cup up very close to the top, which can get annoying. Also, the water seems to come out pretty slow. Another issue I have is with the cheap door handles. They look pretty nice from a distance, but when you get up close and pull on the doors, you can tell they are made with sub-par materials. I know this is one the cheapest models this manufacturer makes, but it would still be nice to get half-way decent handles. A very small number of buyers had problems with the LG LSC27914ST refrigerator breaking down, so I’m thinking it was more of a fluke that it broke down soon after purchasing it. Overall, I do like the look and features on this unit – I just wish they could change those few issues. As is, I can only give this model a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

KitchenAid KSRV22FVWH Review

KitchenAid KSRV22FVWHThe KitchenAid KSRV22FVWH refrigerator is a side by side model, with 21.7 cubic ft of space. The all-white exterior would probably match some kitchen decor’s better than others. In this review of the KitchenAid KSRV22FVWH fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the nearly $1,300 price. Here’s what you can expect, as far as features go: exterior water and ice dispenser, clear gallon door bins, an LCD dispenser display, RollerTrac crisper and meat pan, PuR water filter, in-door ice dispensing system, slide-out glass shelves, and it’s Energy Star qualified. To be honest, I’m not overly impressed by this feature set. I know this refrigerator has the basics covered, but there really isn’t a lot that sets it apart from the competition. This is especially true at this price level. However, the LCD display on the exterior is a nice touch.

Now, onto the negative aspects of the KitchenAid KSRV22FVWH refrigerator. For one thing, I think it’s a little noisier than a lot of the competition. Another issue I have with this unit is that the freezer side is way too small. To me, it seems like it’s much smaller than ordinary side-by-sides. And, this problem is only magnified since it’s a pretty small model to begin with. Last issue I have with this model is that the price is a little on the high side – especially when you compare it to similar 21 cubic ft models. While there are a few issues with the KitchenAid KSRV22FVWH, I still think it’s a decent refrigerator. It definitely looks nice, and even though the features are kind of average, I think the build quality is great. Overall, I would have to give this model a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

GE GSH25JFXBB Review

GE GSH25JFXBBThe GE GSH25JFXBB refrigerator is a side by side model with 25 cubic ft of space. The exterior is a sleek black color, which could match about any kitchen decor. In this review of the GE GSH25JFXBB fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the $900 price tag. For a unit of this size, it’s pretty unusual to have such a low price – so, we’ll take a closer look to see if there’s a reason why it’s so cheap. First off, here’s a rundown of the features found on this model: an exterior water and ice dispenser, water filter, adjustable spill-proof glass shelves, auto energy saver, humidity controlled crisper, adjustable temp deli drawer, external temperature controls with a child lock, a snack pan, adjustable door bins, and it’s also Energy Star compliant. Overall, there’s nothing too shocking with this refrigerator’s feature line-up. However, I do like that the glass shelves can also slide out for easy cleaning. The exterior control pad and adjustable temp deli drawer are also nice touches.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the GE GSH25JFXBB refrigerator. One thing I’m not so fond of is that the ice maker tends to spit out little pieces all over the floor, even when you have it on the cubed setting. Also, I wish they could have made a slim ice machine on the door, instead of taking up all that valuable space in the freezer. And speaking of the freezer, I wish the shelves were adjustable in there. Lastly, I wish they would have made the doors self-closing, because sometimes you actually have to push to get them to shut properly. Most of these issues I have with the GE GSH25JFXBB refrigerator are pretty minor, so I can still recommend this model. I especially like the lower price tag – which is the main reason why I’m giving this unit a 4 / 5 star rating.

Maytag MSD2274VEB Review

Maytag MSD2274VEBThe Maytag MSD2274VEB refrigerator is a side by side model with 21.8 cubic ft of space. The all-black exterior is absolutely gorgeous. In this review of the Maytag MSD2274VEB fridge, I’ll go over the positives and negatives of this model, then decide if it’s worth the $1,200 price tag. First off, here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll get on this unit: tall LCD water and ice dispenser, humidity-controlled crisper, adjustable temp deli drawer, smaller sized ice cubes, a dairy compartment, adjustable spill-catcher shelves, control lockout, PuR water filter, and it’s also Energy Star qualified. One cool thing about the dispenser is that you can have it dispense both water and ice at the same time. Some of the features on this refrigerator are innovative, and usually found on much higher priced models.

Alright, onto the negative aspects of the Maytag MSD2274VEB refrigerator. One common complaint seems to be that the ice maker is a bit noisy. I wouldn’t say that it’s overly noisy though, just enough to make you notice. The freezer doesn’t have a ton of room, but if you looked at it in the store I’m sure you already know that. To be honest, the refrigerator part is not much roomier. The Maytag MSD2274VEB is probably best suited for a 3-4 person household, at most. Overall, I really like this model a lot – but it does have a couple little issues. I’m giving it a 4.3 / 5 star rating.

amana-asd2522wrd

Amana ASD2522WRD Review

Amana ASD2522WRDThe Amana ASD2522WRD refrigerator is a good looking side by side model, with 25.1 cubic ft of space. The exterior is not true stainless steel, but it still looks nice. In this review of the Amana ASD2522WRD fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then determine if it’s worth the nearly $800 asking price. You’d be very hard-pressed to find a true stainless steel unit for this price, so this is about as authentic-looking of a model you’re going to find. So, I think they did a really good job with the exterior. As far as features go, here’s a rundown of what you can expect: humidity controlled crisper drawer, gallon door storage, spill saver glass shelves, exterior water and ice dispensers, dairy center, deli drawer, PuR water filter, and a slide-out plastic freezer container. While the feature list on this refrigerator is not too extensive, it does cover all the basics and then some.

Now we’ll go over the negative aspects of the Amana ASD2522WRD refrigerator. For one thing, only the front is silver colored, while the sides are black. I wish they would have made the entire unit one solid color. Another thing is that handles seem a little loose, unless you tighten them yourself. A few users say they are even a little uneven. Also, the space inside doesn’t quite seem like 25 cubic ft. I think it may just be the way it’s laid out, which I think could have been a lot better. Overall, I think the positive features of the Amana ASD2522WRD far outweigh the negatives. I’m giving this refrigerator a 4.2 / 5 star rating.

KitchenAid KSRG25FVMS Review

KitchenAid KSRG25FVMSThe KitchenAid KSRG25FVMS refrigerator is a side by side model with 25.3 cubic ft of space. The stainless steel exterior is modern looking and beautiful. In this review of the KitchenAid KSRG25FVMS fridge, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses of this model, then decide if it’s worth the $1,600 price tag. Here’s a rundown of the best features found on this unit: exterior water and ice dispenser, ExtendFresh Plus temperature management system, fresh seal deli locker, humidity controlled crisper, LCD dispenser display, slide-out glass shelves, clear gallon door bins, roller track meat pan, and a PuR water filter. Not a bad set of features on this refrigerator, but nothing too out of the ordinary for this price range. I do really like the sliding glass shelves and the LCD display is neat as well.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the KitchenAid KSRG25FVMS refrigerator. The main problem users have with this model seems to be with the ice maker. It tends to freeze up and a couple buyers had it break down. Another issue is with the design of the ice maker. While it does save space in the freezer, it tends to be a little messy – especially in the front. Also, this model seems to be a little bit noisy at times. Overall, I think the KitchenAid KSRG25FVMS is still a nice refrigerator. Without the ice maker problems, this would be a superb model. Even so, I’m giving this model a 4 / 5 star rating.

whirlpool-ed2kvexvq

Whirlpool ED2KVEXVQ Review

Whirlpool ED2KVEXVQThe Whirlpool ED2KVEXVQ refrigerator is a side by side model, with 21.7 cubic ft of space. In my opinion, the all-white exterior is a bit drab. In this review of the Whirlpool ED2KVEXVQ fridge, I’ll look beyond the exterior and see if this model is still a good buy. The $900 price tag is actually pretty reasonable for the size, so that is a positive. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll find on this unit: an exterior water and ice dispenser, clear crisper and meat pan, adjustable spill-guard glass shelves, dispenser lockout, Energy Star qualified, PuR water filtration, adjustable gallon door bins, and a full-width freezer bin. This is not a bad set of features on this refrigerator. In fact, it’s probably about as good as you’ll find at this price point.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Whirlpool ED2KVEXVQ refrigerator. One thing I don’t like is how much room the ice maker takes up in the freezer. It doesn’t leave a lot of room for storing bigger items. A few users have had problems with the ice maker not working properly, or breaking down within the first year. Unfortunately, this is a pretty common problem with side by side models. Another less important item is that the door tends to stick a little. Other than those few issues, there’s not a lot to complain about with the Whirlpool ED2KVEXVQ. It’s a pretty solid refrigerator, even if the exterior is a little boring. I’m giving it a 4 / 5 star rating.

KitchenAid KSRV22FVMS Review

KitchenAid KSRV22FVMSThe KitchenAid KSRV22FVMS refrigerator is a sleek side by side model with 21.7 cubic ft of space, and a beautiful monochromatic stainless steel exterior. In this review of the KitchenAid KSRV22FVMS fridge, I’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses of this model, then decide if it’s worth the $1,450 asking price. Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect to get out of this unit: exterior water and ice dispenser with LED display, PuR water filter, humidity-controlled crisper, adjustable door bins, Energy Star qualified, slide-out and adjustable glass shelves, a meat pan, and an ExtendFresh temperature management system, which helps keep the goods in your refrigerator fresh. While it’s not the best set of features from this manufacturer, it definitely covers all the basics and then some.

Now, onto the negative aspects of the KitchenAid KSRV22FVMS refrigerator. One of the major complaints amongst users is that it is pretty noisy. I don’t think the noise is horrible, but it’s loud enough that you’ll at least hear it throughout the day. Another thing is that the freezer seems a little crowded. I know it’s a smaller model to begin with, so this shouldn’t be a big surprise I guess. Lastly, when the doors swing open it seems like it puts a lot of pressure on the hinges. I highly doubt it’s enough to break them, but just don’t overload the door too much with very heavy items. Even with those couple issues, I still really like the KitchenAid KSRV22FVMS. The design and stainless steel finish is so attractive. Overall, I’m giving this refrigerator a 4 / 5 star rating.
