LG LFC20760ST

LG LFC20760STThe LG LFC20760ST refrigerator is a French door model with 19.7 cubic ft of space. Even though the interior is smaller, the style and design is spectacular. In this review of the LG LFC20760ST fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then determine if it’s worth buying.

Currently, you can buy this unit for around $1,500 – which is definitely on the high-end of models in this size range. The exterior is made entirely of stainless steel, with contoured doors and matching handles to complete the modern look. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll find on this unit: digital temperature controls, factory installed ice maker, adjustable gallon door bins, split Spill Protector shelves which are made of tempered glass, humidity-controlled crispers, DuraBase full-width freezer drawer, multi air flow technology, door alarm, and this refrigerator is also Energy Star qualified. The width of this model is just 30 inches, so it will fit into just about any kitchen space.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the LG LFC20760ST refrigerator. One of the main issues with this model is that the doors tend to need a little help shutting properly. I also wish the freezer drawer was designed a little better. It’s decent, but can be a little hard to reach items in the back. Also, it can feel a little on the small side with the ice maker. Another minor issue I have with this model is that the door hinges aren’t hidden. Not a huge deal, but it would have added a lot to the overall look. Quite honestly, there’s not a lot wrong with the LG LFC20760ST refrigerator. It’s a very solid unit, and seems to be very reliable as well. I also like that there are a few luxury features included. If you don’t mind paying the higher price for this model, I say go for it. I’m giving it a 4.5 / 5 star rating.

Samsung RFG298AABP Review

Samsung RFG298AABPThe Samsung RFG298AABP refrigerator is a French door model with a very roomy 29 cubic ft of space. The all-black exterior is very classy and could match just about any kitchen. In this review of the Samsung RFG298AABP fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth buying. Currently, this unit is selling for around $2,400 – which is actually pretty reasonable for a model with this much space. Here’s a quick rundown of the features found on this model: external water and ice dispenser, twin cooling plus system, 2 minute door alarm, surround air flow, power freeze and cool options, Cool Select pantry, LED lighting, 5 tempered glass shelves, dairy and egg compartments, humidity-controlled crispers, wine rack, gallon door bins, EZ-open freezer door, additional filtered ice maker in freezer, and this refrigerator is also Energy Star qualified. As you can see, they added a number of high-end features to give this model a luxury feel.

Alright, onto the negative aspects of the Samsung RFG298AABP refrigerator. Probably the biggest complaint from users is about the ice maker. Some say it doesn’t produce enough ice, and others say it is very loud. A few users actually had the whole thing go out on them, and had to get it replaced. I know that ice maker problems are probably the number one complaint with any brand you buy, but it’s just too bad that this model had to have these problems as well. Another thing that can get annoying is that the water dispenser tends to drip some after using it. If you hold your cup there for long enough afterward, it shouldn’t be an issue. Other than these two problems, there really isn’t a lot to complain about with the Samsung RFG298AABP – it’s a good refrigerator, overall. I’m still giving this unit a 4.3 / 5 star rating, even though you may have to deal with a couple ice maker problems. If you’re like most people, the positive assets will definitely outweigh the negative with this model.

Electrolux EI23BC56IS French Door Refrigerator

Electrolux EI23BC56ISThe Electrolux EI23BC56IS refrigerator is a French door model, with 22.6 cubic ft of space. The stainless steel exterior looks spectacular, but the nearly $3,000 price is a little steep. In this review of the Electrolux EI23BC56IS fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the money. Here’s a rundown of the features you’ll find on this unit: Cool Zone drawer, Pure Advantage water and air filters, humidity-controlled crispers, luxury multi-level lighting, gliding full width freezer baskets, removable and spill-proof glass shelves, child lock, digital temperature controls, adjustable gallon door bins, external water and ice dispenser, quick freezing ice maker, and this refrigerator is also Energy Star qualified. It’s a decent set of features, to be sure – however, I would expect this much from a unit as expensive as this one is.

Alright, now we’ll move onto the negative aspects of the Electrolux EI23BC56IS refrigerator. A lot of the issues with this model center around the ice maker. First off, it tends to spit ice chips all around, and onto the floor as well. Other users had problems with the ice being a little too liquid instead of solid, and also that it did not make ice fast enough. Another issue seems to be that the interior drawers are made pretty cheaply. Lastly, there are some noises that come from the ice maker and also from shutting the freezer door. Overall, the Electrolux EI23BC56IS refrigerator appears to be giving users a bit of a headache from the issues it has. With that in mind, I can only give this model a 2.9 / 5 star rating.

Maytag MFD2562VEM Stainless Steel Model

Maytag MFD2562VEMThe Maytag MFD2562VEM refrigerator is a French door model, with 24.8 cubic ft of space. The exterior is absolutely gorgeous, with a stainless steel finish. In this review of the Maytag MFD2562VEM fridge, I’ll go over this model’s positive and negative aspects, then decide if it’s worth buying. Currently, you can purchase this model for around $1,700 – which is pretty reasonable, considering it’s size and that it’s a stainless steel unit. Here’s a quick rundown of the features found on it: electronic triple-cool system, gallon door bins, covered dairy compartment, factory-installed ice maker, gliding freezer drawer, internal water dispenser, deli drawer, and spill catcher glass shelves. There are a number of great features found on this refrigerator, but not a lot you wouldn’t expect from a higher-end model.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Maytag MFD2562VEM refrigerator. One of the main complaints is with the deli drawer being poorly constructed. The top of the drawer tends to pop off rather easily. Another thing that’s kind of pain is that the water dispenser and the ice are inside. While I’m glad this model at least has both of those features, I wish they could have put it on the exterior of the door. A couple of users actually had their units break down on them after a few years of usage. While this is something to consider before you buy, I think it was more of a fluke than anything. Unfortunately, I think there are some elements of the Maytag MFD2562VEM refrigerator that are poorly designed or just cheaply made. Until those issues get addressed, I can only give this model a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

GE GFSS2HCYSS Review

GE GFSS2HCYSSThe GE GFSS2HCYSS refrigerator is a French door model with just over 22 cubic ft of space. The exterior is a beautiful stainless steel finish. In this review of the GE GFSS2HCYSS fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then deciding if it’s worth the $1,350 price tag. What I really like about the exterior is the high-end details, such as: the rounded doors, hidden hinges, and contoured handles. Here’s a quick rundown of the features found on this unit: adjustable humidity-controlled crispers, snack drawer, adjustable spill proof glass shelves, super bright Reveal lighting, upfront temperature controls, factory installed ice maker, adjustable gallon door bins, and this refrigerator is also Energy Star qualified. I really like how almost everything is customizable on this model – it’s a nice touch.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the GE GFSS2HCYSS refrigerator. One thing I don’t really like is how small the freezer space seems. A lot of the cramped feeling is due to the ice maker being in there, which would be hard to give up. Another thing is that the door bins seem a little cheap – and, one user actually had them break on her. Of course, the stainless steel exterior is going to attract fingerprints, but that is very common. Other than those couple issues, I can’t think of much wrong with the GE GFSS2HCYSS refrigerator. It’s a decent buy, especially if you are in the market for a cheaper stainless steel model. I’m giving this unit a 4.3 / 5 star rating.

LG LFX25978ST Review

LG LFX25978STThe LG LFX25978ST refrigerator is a French door model with 24.9 cubic ft of space. The exterior is has a beautiful stainless steel finish. In this review of the LG LFX25978ST fridge, I’ll go over the positive and negative aspects of this model, then decide if it’s worth the $2,300 price tag. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect to find on this unit: premium LED lighting, adjustable gallon door bins, humidity controlled crispers, full-width and adjustable temp gliding drawer, contoured doors, hidden hinges, exterior water and ice dispenser, door alarm, accelerated ice making system, spill protector glass shelves, electronic temperature controls, and it’s also Energy Star qualified. As you can see, this refrigerator just about has it all. I love the slim ice maker in the door and all the extra door bins for easy storage. To me, this model feels a lot more spacious than it actually is – which is a good thing.

Alright, onto the negative aspects of the LG LFX25978ST refrigerator. One problem I’ve noticed among users is that the ice maker tends to get stuck sometimes. Usually you just have to stir around the ice at top, but it can get a little annoying. Another issue I have with this model is that some of the parts seem a little cheap – this is especially disappointing because this model is expensive. Probably the biggest issue holding people back from buying this unit is the higher price tag. I’m not saying it’s not worth the money, it’s just that you could easily get a competitor model for $500 less. Even with these few issues, I still really like the LG LFX25978ST refrigerator. Overall, I’m giving it a 4.3 / 5 star rating.

Electrolux EW23BC71IW Review

Electrolux EW23BC71IWThe Electrolux EW23BC71IW refrigerator is a French door model, with 22.6 cubic ft of space. Although it’s not huge, it does at least have some nice style. In this review of the Electrolux EW23BC71IW fridge, I’ll go over the positive and negative aspects of this model, then decide if it’s worth the $3,000 price tag. To be honest, the price is on the upper fringe for it’s size range – so, it better have some great features to make it worth the money. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll get on this unit: a perfect temperature drawer, self-closing freezer drawer, external water and ice dispenser, wave touch controls, Pure Advantage water and air filters, 4 luxury-design glass shelves, 3 full-width gliding freezer baskets, and an ice maker that can make up to 9 lbs of bullet shaped ice in 24 hours. As you can see, a lot of the features on this refrigerator would be considered a luxury. For the most part, they are definitely an asset.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Electrolux EW23BC71IW refrigerator. Unfortunately, a good portion of users have had problems with the ice maker on this model. It tends to break down pretty easily – plus, if you have a bigger family the ice maker may not keep up with demand. The wave touch panel is also pretty finicky. It normally works fine, but can randomly give you trouble as well. The freezer is fine, but probably a little smaller than I would like. There’s not a lot else that I have to complain about with the Electrolux EW23BC71IW refrigerator. Overall, I’m giving this model a 3.9 / 5 star rating.

Samsung RFG298AAWP Review

Samsung RFG298AAWPThe Samsung RFG298AAWP refrigerator is a very spacious French door model, with an eggshell white exterior and 29 cubic ft of space. In this review of the Samsung RFG298AAWP fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the near $2,200 price tag. First off, you’re not going to find a lot of models with this amount of space selling for this cheap – so that’s a good start. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll get with this unit: a deluxe exterior water and ice dispenser, door alarm, twin plus cooling system, surround air flow, two separate ice makers, an EZ-open freezer drawer, gallon door bins, 5 spill proof and tempered glass shelves, water filter, large 2-divider freezer bins, Cool Select pantry, humidity-controlled crispers, dairy compartment, luxury lighting, and it’s also Energy Star qualified. As you can tell, there are a number of extra features on this refrigerator. Another thing I like about this model is that it seems to be built very well.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Samsung RFG298AAWP refrigerator. There are a couple complaints I’ve seen about the ice maker leaking or spitting ice. I think this may be a small problem, but you can always remedy this problem by holding your cup closer up to the dispenser. Also, the ice maker tends to be a little noisy at times. Even though this model is pricey, I can’t complain too much about it, because most models of this size are even more expensive. Other than those few minor issues with the Samsung RFG298AAWP, I can’t see any reason not to recommend this refrigerator. If you can get it on sale, this model would be a spectacular deal. Overall, I’m giving it a 4.3 / 5 star rating.

electrolux-ew28bs71ib

Electrolux EW28BS71IB Review

Electrolux EW28BS71IBThe Electrolux EW28BS71IB refrigerator is a French door model with 27.8 cubic ft of space. The current price of this model is around $2,900 – so we’ll review the Electrolux EW28BS71IB fridge, and decide if it’s worth the higher price tag. As far as aesthetics go, the all-black exterior looks great and the surface is textured beautifully. I also really like the very stylish door handles. Here’s a quick rundown of the best features you’ll find on this unit: exterior water and ice dispenser, up to 9 lbs of bullet shaped ice in a 24 hour period, multi-level lighting, removable and spill proof glass shelves, PureAdvantage water and air filters, a Perfect Temp drawer with 9 preset selections, gliding full-width freezer baskets, wave touch controls, humidity controlled crispers, gallon door bins, and of course it’s also Energy Star qualified. For a high-end refrigerator, this is a pretty standard set of features. Even so, it has a lot of very useful extras included.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Electrolux EW28BS71IB refrigerator. Probably the most common problem amongst users is the ice maker spilling. Unfortunately, it tends to spit out and spill ice when you use the dispenser. Also, the water seems to be a little warm. The only other thing I can think to complain about is the price. I know this is an eye-catching and solidly built unit, but I don’t think the nearly $3,000 price is quite justified. Overall, I’m very happy with the Electrolux EW28BS71IB refrigerator, and I am giving it a 4.2 / 5 star rating. However, if you end up buying this model, just be ready for ice maker issues.
