LG LFC20760STThe LG LFC20760ST refrigerator is a French door model with 19.7 cubic ft of space. Even though the interior is smaller, the style and design is spectacular. In this review of the LG LFC20760ST fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then determine if it’s worth buying.

Currently, you can buy this unit for around $1,500 – which is definitely on the high-end of models in this size range. The exterior is made entirely of stainless steel, with contoured doors and matching handles to complete the modern look. Here’s a quick rundown of the features you’ll find on this unit: digital temperature controls, factory installed ice maker, adjustable gallon door bins, split Spill Protector shelves which are made of tempered glass, humidity-controlled crispers, DuraBase full-width freezer drawer, multi air flow technology, door alarm, and this refrigerator is also Energy Star qualified. The width of this model is just 30 inches, so it will fit into just about any kitchen space.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the LG LFC20760ST refrigerator. One of the main issues with this model is that the doors tend to need a little help shutting properly. I also wish the freezer drawer was designed a little better. It’s decent, but can be a little hard to reach items in the back. Also, it can feel a little on the small side with the ice maker. Another minor issue I have with this model is that the door hinges aren’t hidden. Not a huge deal, but it would have added a lot to the overall look. Quite honestly, there’s not a lot wrong with the LG LFC20760ST refrigerator. It’s a very solid unit, and seems to be very reliable as well. I also like that there are a few luxury features included. If you don’t mind paying the higher price for this model, I say go for it. I’m giving it a 4.5 / 5 star rating.

Maytag MBR2258XES Review

Maytag MBR2258XESThe Maytag MBR2258XES refrigerator is a stylish bottom freezer model, with 21.9 cubic ft of space. This model is currently priced right around $1,300. In this review of the Maytag MBR2258XES fridge, we’ll go over the strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the asking price. One thing I really like is the stainless steel exterior, which I think helps give it a classy look. Here’s a quick rundown of the features found on this model: adjustable deli drawer, gallon door bins, spill-catcher glass shelves, a factory installed ice maker, glide-out freezer drawer, dairy compartment, electronic temperature controls, and it’s also Energy Star qualified. I wouldn’t consider this an excessive amount of features on this refrigerator, but it at least covers the basics.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the Maytag MBR2258XES refrigerator. A couple things that can get annoying: the ice maker is a bit noisy at times, the exterior gets marked up with fingerprints very easily, and the freezer drawer can be a little hard to pull out at times. I wouldn’t say there is anything huge that stands out on this model – just a few little issues. Overall, I’m quite impressed with this unit, even though it’s a little on the small side. I’m going to give the Maytag MBR2258XES refrigerator a 4.5 / 5 star rating, which is one of the highest marks that this manufacturer has produced.

LG LFC25776ST Review

LG LFC25776STThe LG LFC25776ST refrigerator is a mid-sized French door model, with 25 cubic ft of space. The stainless steel exterior looks ver classy and modern. In this review of the LG LFC25776ST fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth the nearly $1,600 price tag. Here’s a quick rundown of the best features found on this model: internal LED touchpad, accelerated ice freezing, Energy Star qualified (30% better than Federal standards), door alarm, premium LED lighting package, humidity-controlled crispers, adjustable gallon door bins, glide out drawer, multi-airflow technology, spill protector and tempered glass shelves, and a linear compressor which helps save energy. Overall, I’m impressed with the features this refrigerator has. Quite honestly, you may not find this amount of features even on a much more expensive model. It is still missing a couple useful items, but it’s still a great line-up.

OK, onto the negative aspects of the LG LFC25776ST refrigerator. The items I was referring to above include: no water or ice dispenser (although, it does have an ice maker), the doors can be a little hard to close, the meat drawer requires both French doors to be open in order to slide it out, and the stainless steel exterior tends to mark up pretty easily. Not a very long list of complaints, and most of them are pretty minor. If the LG LFC25776ST refrigerator had a water dispenser, I would have given this unit top ratings. Even with the minor issues, I’m giving this model a 4.5 / 5 star rating. The price is great, and the feature set is wonderful.

GE GTH18XCTBBThe GE GTH18XCTBB refrigerator is fairly small, having only 18.2 cubic ft of space. The sleek black exterior gives it the look of a more expensive model. In this review of the GE GTH18XCTBB fridge, I’ll be going over the best features on this model, as well as anything negative. Here’s a rundown of what you can expect to find on this refrigerator: NeverClean condenser, gallon door storage, factory-installed ice maker, upfront temp controls, and crisper drawers. For a model that costs around $500, this would be considered a lot of extras.

Since the GE GTH18XCTBB refrigerator is a smaller top-freezer model, there’s not nearly as much that can go wrong with it. Even so, there are a couple minor things that I don’t like about this fridge. While I love the ice maker in the freezer, it does take up a lot of space. So, my main issue with this model is not having adequate freezer space. I also would have liked to see spill-proof glass shelving – but, I know this is more of a luxury item. Lastly, it does make some noise. It’s definitely not too loud, just a constant humming. Overall, I absolutely love the GE GTH18XCTBB fridge. I’m giving it a 4.7 / 5 star rating.

Electrolux EW23BC71IB Review

Electrolux EW23BC71IBOur Electrolux EW23BC71IB review: The 22.6 cubic ft, french door Electrolux EW23BC71IB refrigerator is a deep black colored model with a good amount of features. It also costs a pretty penny (currently $3,300), so we’ll take a look at all the features to see if it’s actually worth the money. On board this fridge you’ll find: 4 luxury design glass shelves, external water and ice dispensers, an ice-maker which can produce a whopping 9 lbs of bullet shaped ice in 24 hours, perfect temp drawer with 9 preset modes, 3 luxury-glide freezer baskets, PureAdvantage water filter and air filter, and wave-touch controls. I have to admit, the wave-touch controls are a pretty neat, high-tech addition.

Now I’ll go over the potential negatives of the Electrolux EW23BC71IB refrigerator. The first is the price, no question about it. At this price level, you could get a good 28 or 29 cubic ft fridge. The features are definitely cool and very useful, but I’m not sure they are cool enough to justify $3,300. The other more petty issue I have with this model is the shelves. They look spectacular, but I’m not sure they are the most spill-proof shelving available. Also, it would have been nice to have the dispenser be slightly taller. I would probably give the Electrolux EW23BC71IB our highest rating, except for the price. For that reason, I can only give it 4.5/5 stars.

Best Refrigerator For College Dorm

Best Dorm Room RefrigeratorFinding the best refrigerator for college dorm rooms can be a tricky task. Most students want it to be smaller, look nice, be reliable, and have a freezer compartment. There are a ton of manufacturers out there that make mini fridges, but they are not all created equally. A couple brands that make some awesome refrigerators for college dorm rooms are: Frigidaire, Danby, Haier, Igloo, Kenmore, Supentown and EdgeStar. I’ve picked out 2 of the best models, which I think have all the the benefits (or most anyway) I listed above. I’ll share them with you below.

The first model on the “best refrigerator for college dorm room” list is: Haier HSA04WNCBB. This one is actually a little larger-sized, at 3.9 cubic ft. It would be great for roomates sharing a fridge. The best feature on this model is that it’s freezer compartment is full-sized. You can fit larger items in it, compared to other competitor models. Also, the refrigerated compartment is nice and big (comparatively anyway). The shelves are also adjustable. It currently sells for about $170.

The second model I recommend is the Kenmore 92779. This 2.7 cubic ft model is perfecft for tighter spaces. The freezer is small, but you can at least cram in a frozen meal and ice cube tray. The refrigerated section is small as well, but easily big enough for 12 cans of soda and a couple other food items. I really like the side door compartments. It adds to the space tremendously. The wire shelves are removable, but not adjustable. Probably the best thing about this refrigerator is that it’s under $100.

Frigidaire LGHB2869LF Review

Frigidaire LGHB2869LFOur Frigidaire LGHB2869LF review: Coming from the Gallery line, the Frigidaire LGHB2869LF refrigerator is a decent sized 27.8 cubic ft model. The exterior is stainless steel, and looks absolutely stunning. This fridge has a lot of the bells and whistles you would expect to find on a high-end model. A few of it’s more prominent features are: energy saving mode (goes into effect when doors are not opened for 24 hours), humidity controlled crispers, SpillSafe glass shelves, Energy star qualified, water & ice dispensers, gallon door bins, and an exterior control pad. The freezer has only 1 shelf, but two bins.

As you’d expect, the Frigidaire LGHB2869LF Gallery refrigerator is quite pricey – currently around $2,500. Unfortunately, the cost is probably its biggest drawback. There are a few models that are more expensive out there, but I’d say this is in the top 10 percent as far as price goes. A few users complain about the noise, but my guess is that it’s mostly due to the ice-maker. Although, the stainless steel is beautiful, it does attract fingerprints quite easily. I really don’t have a lot to complain about with the Frigidaire LGHB2869LF refrigerator. If you can afford the price, it’s definitely a good model to consider. I’m giving it a 4.5/5 star rating.

Samsung RF4287HARS Review

Samsung RF4287HARSOur short Samsung RF4287HARS review: With 28 cubic ft of space, the Samsung RF4287HARS refrigerator is definitely one of the bigger french door models on the market. The stainless steel exterior really makes this fridge beautiful, and the FlexZone drawer is a very nice touch. A couple other features I really like about this model are: a super bright LED lighting system, Surround Air Flow for even cooling, thru-the-door water and ice dispensers, spill-proof tempered glass shelves, a nice external digital display and controls, and the FlexZone drawer that I mentioned earlier. The drawer is neat, because it has 4 temperature zones which can be set to accommodate just about any special needs item.

So, what’s not to like about the Samsung RF4287HARS refrigerator? Well, there are a couple issues buyers seem to have with this fridge. The first is the ice maker, which some users find a little loud and also that it doesn’t make ice fast enough. Also, the stainless steel attracts fingerprints quite easily – but that’s to be expected. A couple reviews I read talked about the Samsung RF4287HARS making a humming sound. I think the other big issue with this refrigerator is the price tag, which is currently around $2,800. Mostly, that will just keep some people from buying it. I’m not saying, however, that this model isn’t worth the money. Even with these few issues, I’m giving it a 4.5/5 star rating. It’s a spectacular high-end model, with lots of useful features.

Maytag M1TXEMMWQ Review

Maytag M1TXEMMWQThe Maytag M1TXEMMWQ refrigerator is perfect for buyers who want a good amount of space, but don’t want to pay top-dollar. At 21 cubic ft, the top-freezer Maytag M1TXEMMWQ is big enough for a family and only costs around $650 (current price at Home Depot). This model would fall under the “basic” category of refrigerators, but it still manages to have a decent amount of extras. It’s features include: Energy Star qualified, 2 crispers with humidity controls, adjustable tempered glass shelving, no-clean commercial duty condenser, and the M1TXEMMWQ comes with a factory installed ice-maker. Actually, that’s not a bad set of features for such an inexpensive fridge.

The big question is whether the Maytag M1TXEMMWQ has any major flaws. Well, a few users complained about it being noisy. I don’t really think it’s a problem. More often than not, if you adjust the 2 screws at the bottom of the refrigerator, the noise will go away. I don’t really like that the freezer doesn’t have a light, but you get used to it pretty fast. There isn’t a whole lot to complain about with the M1TXEMMWQ. In fact, at this price point you’d be hard pressed to find a higher quality fridge. I’m giving this model a 4.5/5 star rating. For what you pay, it has the features of a unit twice it’s price.
