The best refrigerator under $1000 is a tough choice. To be honest, there aren’t a lot of new refrigerators being sold these days for under $1000. Kenmore, Hotpoint and GE are the top brands that make most of these budget fridges.

I think the best refrigerator under $1000 would have to be the Hotpoint HSS25GFTWW. It’s a side-by-side model and comes standard with a through-the-door ice maker and water dispenser (plus a water filter). It has some exterior control buttons and a temperature reader. What is most attractive with this refrigerator is the 25 cubic ft interior. It has plenty of space for a family, and it’s built to last. It’s priced at the very high end of our budget, but still comes in at just under $1000.

If you’re looking for a cheaper model, the compact GE GTS18FBSWW and the Kenmore 74192 are great choices as well. They are both priced around $550. Both are actually top-freezer design models. The Kenmore is slightly bigger at 20.6 cubic ft (the GE is around 18). Even though both of these models could be considered for the best refrigerator under $1000 award - I would still highly recommend the Hotpoint model, if you have the money.
