Samsung RFG298AABP Review

Alright, onto the negative aspects of the Samsung RFG298AABP refrigerator. Probably the biggest complaint from users is about the ice maker. Some say it doesn’t produce enough ice, and others say it is very loud. A few users actually had the whole thing go out on them, and had to get it replaced. I know that ice maker problems are probably the number one complaint with any brand you buy, but it’s just too bad that this model had to have these problems as well. Another thing that can get annoying is that the water dispenser tends to drip some after using it. If you hold your cup there for long enough afterward, it shouldn’t be an issue. Other than these two problems, there really isn’t a lot to complain about with the Samsung RFG298AABP - it’s a good refrigerator, overall. I’m still giving this unit a 4.3 / 5 star rating, even though you may have to deal with a couple ice maker problems. If you’re like most people, the positive assets will definitely outweigh the negative with this model.

First off, here’s a quick rundown of the features found on this unit: gallon door storage, two humidity-controlled crispers, a gliding freezer basket, Temp Assured freshness controls, dairy center, reversible door swing, glass shelves, and it’s also Energy Star compliant. I wouldn’t say there is anything on this refrigerator that is too unique, but it does at least cover the basics, plus a few extras. I do really like the freshness controls, they’re very easy to use and understand.

In this review of the GE GTH21SCXSS fridge, I’ll go over this model’s strengths and weaknesses, then decide if it’s worth buying. First off, it’s always nice when you find a smaller unit that still has the elegance of a higher-end stainless steel model. But beyond the physical exterior, here’s a rundown of the features you’ll find on board: humidity controlled crispers, snack pan, factory-installed ice maker, adjustable and spill resistant glass shelves, gallon door storage, illuminated temperature controls, and it’s also Energy Star qualified. With a nearly $1,000 price tag, you would expect that this refrigerator have some quality features - and for the most part, it delivers on that expectation.
