Samsung RFG298AARS Review

Samsung RFG298AARS

Our Samsung RFG298AARS review: There really are not a lot of refrigerators out there that have the storage space, style and presence that the Samsung RFG298AARS model has. At 29 cubic ft, it’s definitely in the top bracket as far as space goes. The stainless steel exterior, contoured doors, and hidden hinges give it a sleek modern look. A few more features you’ll find on this model are: twin cooling system, Energy Star qualified, external filtered water and ice dispensers, CoolSelect pantry door, external digial display and control, and power freeze and cool. It also has 5 door bins and 5 adjustable glass shelves.

Next, I’ll go over any potential downsides to the Samsung RFG298AARS refrigerator. Unfortunately, even with good looks and features, quite a number of buyers have had this model break down on them in under a year. A few even complained that Samsung didn’t respond to their problems very quickly. I’m not saying this will happen to you, but it’s just something to be aware of. The good news is that other than the fridge breaking down for a couple buyers, the Samsung RFG298AARS refrigerator only has a couple very minor problems. Overall, I’m only giving it a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

LG LFX25976ST Review

LG LFX25976ST

The LG LFX25976ST refrigerator is a 24.7 cubic ft, french door model with a lot of style and also some great features. In this review, I’ll go over some of the LG LFX25976ST fridge’s positive and negative aspects. First off, if you haven’t actually seen this model in person, you’ll be surprised at how good it looks. The stainless steel exterior, hidden hinges, and contoured handles give it a very sleek look. I also really like the tall water and ice dispenser located alongside the control pad. A few other nice features on this refrigerator include:slim ice system for more freezer space, transitional LED lighting, four-compartment crisper system, accelerated ice freezing, linear compressor motor gives more efficiency and less break downs, and Smooth-Touch controls with LED display. All in all, a great set of features on this refrigerator.

Next, I’ll go over some of the potential negative aspects of the LG LFX25976ST refrigerator. The only problems that I came across are: the ice maker doesn’t hold a ton of ice (especially if you have a bigger family), the stainless steel exterior marks up pretty easily with fingerprints, and at least one user complained that it leaks water in humid climates. I suppose that last one could be a fluke, but just be aware that it could happen if you do live in a humid area. Honestly, these are fairly minor problems. I really like the LG LFX25976ST refrigerator, overall. I’m giving this model a 4.5 / 5 star rating.

KitchenAid K9TREFFWWH Review

KitchenAid K9TREFFWWH

Our KitchenAid K9TREFFWWH review: It’s very hard to find a decent smaller-sized fridge. However, the KitchenAid K9TREFFWWH refrigerator is solidly built and also comes with a few extra features. At only 18.9 cubic ft, it’s going to be too small for most families - but, just about perfect for couples and single folks. One thing I really like about this model is that it is Energy Star qualified. That means you’ll save money over the competition in the long run. A few other features on this refrigerator include: adjustable SpillClean glass shelves, humidity-controlled crispers, two freezer shelves and a temperature management system. While it may not seem like a lot, this is actually a good amount of features for a smaller model.

Currently, the KitchenAid K9TREFFWWH refrigerator costs around $820 at Lowes. This is a bit higher priced than similar competitor models, but not too much. Probably the biggest complaint about this model is the noise it makes. I’ve read a number of complaints about it being too loud. Other than that, I only have petty stuff to complain about (door bins aren’t adjustable, there’s no ice maker, etc.). If it weren’t for the noise factor, I would really like this model a lot more. As it is, I’m giving the KitchenAid K9TREFFWWH a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

Hotpoint HTH16BBXRWW Review

Hotpoint HTH16BBXRWWOur Hotpoint HTH16BBXRWW refrigerator review: At 15.5 cubic ft, this fridge is probably going to be too small for most mid-sized families. However, the Hotpoint HTH16BBXRWW would work work great for couples or even single folks. A few features on this model include: gallon door storage, NeverClean condenser, adjustable shelves, two crispers, deluxe quiet design and it is also Energy Star qualified. While it doesn’t have a lot of features, it at least has all the basics covered.

There are a couple things on the Hotpoint HTH16BBXRWW refrigerator I wish they would have added or changed. First off, the freezer has no light or shelf. Second, the fridge section has wire shelving instead of glass. Third, the crispers are not humidity controlled. Fourth, the door bins are very small - and are not adjustable. Lastly, it’s a little noisy. I realize that a lot of this stuff is expected on a smaller refrigerator model, but it would still be nice to have. The Hotpoint HTH16BBXRWW is currently selling for around $600, which a bit higher than some similar competitor models. Overall, I can only give it this fridge a 3.5 / 5 star rating.

Amana A8RXNGMWB Review

Amana A8RXNGMWBThe Amana A8RXNGMWB refrigerator is a 17.6 cubic ft, all-black model. Even though it’s smaller than the average fridge, the Amana A8RXNGMWB has a few features you would normally find on a larger, more expensive refrigerator. The contoured doors, hidden hinges and smooth black exterior give it a sleek modern look. A few other features you’ll find on this model are: gallon door storage, deli drawer, dairy center, factory installed ice-maker, adjustable spill-saver glass shelves, up-front temp controls, and two crispers. Like I mentioned earlier, you almost never see all those features in a fridge that’s under 18 cubc ft. The Amana A8RXNGMWB refrigerator’s price is also very reasonable - currently around $500.

Now, I’ll go over any negatives this fridge might have. A few buyers complain about the noise level. I don’t think it’s much louder than the average refrigerator, but it does make funny noises from time to time. The Amana A8RXNGMWB fridge’s exterior attracts fingerprints pretty easily. There was the rare user who said that it broke down after a year - but I think this is the exception rather than the rule. Overall, I think the Amana A8RXNGMWB is a wonderful smaller refrigerator. I’m giving it a 4/5 star rating.

Frigidaire Gallery FGHT1834KW Review

Frigidaire Gallery FGHT1834KWFrigidaire Gallery FGHT1834KW review: With just over 18 cubic ft, the white-colored Frigidaire Gallery FGHT1834KW refrigerator is on the smaller side. However, having less space certainly does not mean this is a bad fridge. At first glance, you can tell this is a pretty basic model - and no wonder, it only costs around $700. A few of the FGHT1834KW’s most prominent features include: humidity-controlled crispers, bright lighting, Energy Star qualified, deli drawer, adjustable gallon door bins, and spill-proof glass shelves. To be honest, this is a good amount of features for a smaller, cheaper model.

Even though the Frigidaire Gallery FGHT1834KW looks great and has a good amount of features, it still has its downsides as well. First off, I have to mention how small the freezer is. This is by far the number one complaint by users - especially since you need a little space for air flow. Another thing is that it doesn’t come with a factory installed ice maker. On cheaper models you can’t really expect this feature, but it would have been a nice touch. Lastly, the Frigidaire Gallery FGHT1834KW refrigerator seems to make quite a bit of noise (loud humming). So, even though this is a great model in some ways, it is lacking in other areas. I’m giving this fridge a 3.8 / 5 star rating.

GE Profile PSHF6PGZBB Review

GE Profile PSHF6PGZBBThe GE Profile PSHF6PGZBB refrigerator is an all-black model with 25.9 cubic ft of space. With the rise of stainless steel models, it’s actually a little refreshing to see an equally stylish refrigerator of a different color. In a lot of ways, the GE Profile PSHF6PGZBB is a fairly standard side-by-side refrigerator, but it does have some nice features inside. A few of it’s most prominent ones include: super bright LED lighting system, adjustable gallon door bins, quick ice setting, water filter, exterior water and ice dispenser (water can be dispensed at 64 ounces per minute), electronic controls / sensors and adjustable glass shelves.

Now I’ll go over a few concerns I have with the GE Profile PSHF6PGZBB refrigerator. First off, side by side models are known to be less reliable than other styles. While I haven’t come across any review that says their fridge broke down, some users do say that the build quality is lacking a bit. Another issue is the noise level. I know it’s supposed to be a deluxe quiet design, but there still is some noise to this fridge. My last issue is with the freezer space. To me it doesn’t seem very big - especially with the ice bin taking up a good amount of it. It really would only be a problem for those of you who store a lot of stuff in the freezer, otherwise it should be enough space I suppose. While I love the style and a lot of it’s features, I can only give the GE Profile PSHF6PGZBB a 3.7 / 5 star rating because of the couple issues it has.

Electrolux EI26SS55GS Review

Electrolux EI26SS55GSElectrolux EI26SS55GS review: The beautifully designed, stainless steel Electrolux EI26SS55GS refrigerator has 25.9 cubic ft of space and is full of style. All the curved edges give it a warm look, but with a modern twist. The designer glass shelves are really neat - they glide out so you can reach the stuff in the back with ease. They also look spectacular. The lighting on the inside is well thought out. It gently increases the longer you have the door open, and eventually turns into a bright ultrawhite, shadowless lighting. A few other features you’ll find on this model: luxury-glide crispers, water and air filtration systems, dual cooling, water and ice dispeners, IQ-Touch technology, and it is Engery Star qualified.

There are a few things on the Electrolux EI26SS55GS refrigerator that buyers complain about. The first is the ice maker, which has a tendency to make more ice than the bin can hold and the ice dispenser can get a little messy sometimes as well. Another issue is that it can be a little loud. It’s bearable, but annoying none the less. The $2,000 price tag may seem a little high, but it’s actually in line with similar competitor refrigerators. Overall, this model is solidly built and definitely worth checking out. I’m giving it a 4/5 star rating.

Maytag MSD2572VEW Review

Maytag MSD2572VEWMaytag MSD2572VEW review: When you first look at the 25.2 cubic ft Maytag MSD2572VEW refrigerator, nothing really stands out. However, on closer inspection, there are actually a good amount of features on this decent-priced (currently $760) refrigerator. The white exterior is fairly plain, although I must admit that it’s one of the better looking shades of white available. A few of it’s most prominent features include: a tall single pad water and ice dispenser, Energy Star qualified, two FreshLock crispers, 3 adjustable spill-catcher glass shelves, smaller ice cubes which can fit into water bottles, PuR water and ice filters, back-lit slide temperature controls, and a control lockout option. I also really like all the storage space in the both the freezer and fridge doors.

Unfortunately, there are a couple things about the Maytag MSD2572VEW refrigerator I wish could be changed. Like a lot of side-by-side models, this one has a tendency to spit out crushed ice over the cup and onto the floor. Another issue I have is with the crispers, which can be a little hard to slide out sometimes. The buttons on the exterior are fairly hard to press (water and ice, etc). It’s not impossible to do, but just hard enough to make it annoying. A couple users complained about the noise level, but I don’t think that’s an issue for most people. Overall, the Maytag MSD2572VEW model is a decent fridge - but, the price is what makes it a good buy. I’m giving it a 4/5 star rating.
